Instructions

  • Add water and rice to a pot or saucepan and bring to a boil.
  • Let the rice cook for about 2 minutes on medium heat and keep stirring.
  • Add milk, cinnamon sticks and cardamom and bring to a boil again.
  • Cook over low heat for about 40 minutes, until the rice is fully cooked.
  • Remove the cinnamon sticks from the pudding.
  • Season with salt.
  • Place pudding in a serving dish, sprinkle with cinnamon, apple slices and chopped almonds.
Enjoy!
Tip

The epitome of this breakfast is, of course, the rice. To prevent them from burning or sticking to the bottom, use a heavy-bottomed pot or saucepan, which distributes heat more evenly. Stir the rice regularly to not only prevent it from sticking but also to ensure that it cooks evenly.

Tip

Keep an eye on it as it cooks as the approximate cooking time of 40 minutes might vary. Adjust the cooking time as needed either cooking it longer or for less time. Also, if you do not want it too thick, take it off the heat a bit before it is completely done as it will set and thicken as it cools.
