French Toast

French Toast

French toast is a yummy treat to serve at a weekend for breakfast or brunch. Its deliciously crispy texture quickly makes it a firm favourite.

Ingredients

Red apple
1
Ground cinnamon
tbsp
Raw cane sugar
2 tbsp
Semi-skimmed milk
200 ml
Eggs
2
Ground cardamom Pods
1 tsp
Stale Bread
4 slices
Butter
10 g

Instructions

Step 1

  • Core and cut the apple into thin slices. Mix the apple with cinnamon and 1 tablespoon of raw cane sugar.

Step 2

  • Whisk together the milk, eggs and cardamom in a bowl.

Step 3

  • Pair up the slices of bread and sandwich the apple slices in between. Take the bowl of mixture and drench both sides of the bread.

Step 4

  • Place the bread into a saucepan and fry in butter and the rest of the sugar on medium heat for 2-3 minutes on each side.

Step 5

  • Let it cool slightly and cut into triangles.
